Privacy Policy

GrammarWorksheet is a free worksheet generator. There are no user accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no personal profile to store.

What we do not collect

No account data. There is no registration, no login and no password.
No worksheet content. The questions on your sheet are never sent anywhere. The first worksheet on a page is rendered by our server as part of the page itself; from then on every change, reshuffle and print happens entirely in your browser, and nothing about the paper is written to any database. (One caveat, stated in full under Analytics below: the three providers that are not currently switched on would, if enabled, receive event records describing the worksheet's settings — the grade and the ticked skills — never the questions. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is running, receives none of that: it sees page views only.)
No payment information. Nothing on this site costs money.

What is stored in your browser

A theme preference — the word light, dark or system, written to localStorage under the key theme when you use the theme switcher. localStorage is not sent with requests the way a cookie is, so this value never reaches our server. If you never touch the switcher, nothing is written at all.

This site sets no cookie of its own, but two of its measurement tools do — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. The cookie policy names each one, what it is for and how long it lasts, and explains how to refuse all of them without losing any part of the site.

Your worksheet settings are held in memory only and are gone when you close the tab.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served from Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the request itself in order to answer it — your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page — and we have request logging enabled so that errors can be diagnosed.

That data is a by-product of serving pages, not a profile: it is not joined to anything else, it is not used to identify individual visitors, and it is not sold or shared. It is, however, still personal information under California law, because an IP address is — see Selling and sharing personal information below for what you can ask us to do about it. Cloudflare acts as our processor and describes its own handling in its privacy policy.

Analytics

Three measurement tools run here. Naming them and saying what each actually receives is more useful than the word "analytics".

Cloudflare Web Analytics — page views only. Sets no cookie, writes nothing to your browser, does not fingerprint, and has no identifier, so it cannot connect one of your visits to another. Privacy policy

Google Analytics (Google LLC) — the usual web analytics: pages visited, referrer, approximate location, device and browser. It sets cookies, assigns your browser a random identifier so a returning visitor can be told from a new one, and processes data outside your country. Privacy policy · opt out on every site

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — the same page-level data, plus a playback of the session: pointer movement, clicks, scrolling. That is what it is for. It exists here to answer one question no counter can — can somebody actually find the print button and get paper out of this. Clarity masks typed input by default, and this site has no field to type into. Privacy statement

We do not use any of them to build a profile of you or to work out who you are, and none of the data is sold. We cannot promise on a provider's behalf that its data is anonymous, which is why they are named rather than described vaguely.

The three worksheet events, in full

Google Analytics also receives three events about the builder itself. "Web analytics" usually means page views alone, so here is exactly what these carry. Microsoft Clarity receives only the event name.

They exist to settle one question: after printing a useful sheet, do people come back for a fresh variant of the same skill, or would a static PDF have done the same job? That decides whether the generator is worth maintaining.

What they do not carry: the questions, the answers, anything you type, or any identifier we invented. 5 and commas,verb-tenses describe the paper, not the person holding it.

Any standard content blocker stops all three tools. The generator, the print output and the answer keys work exactly the same either way.

Email

If you email us, we hold that message and your email address for as long as it takes to deal with it. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Advertising

No advertising runs on this site today. No ad script is loaded, no ad cookie is set, and no request leaves your browser for an ad network. You can confirm that in your browser's network panel.

The site is being prepared for Google AdSense, and this section describes what will be true once advertising is switched on, so that it is disclosed before it happens rather than after. When ads are enabled:

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. These cookies may be associated with doubleclick.net or with country-specific Google domains.
You may opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of a wider set of vendors at www.aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org.
If ad serving is not restricted to Google alone, third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site. Those vendors will be named here, with links to their own policies, and you can opt out of their cookies through their sites or through www.aboutads.info/choices.

Opting out does not remove advertising; it stops the advertising from being personalized to you.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. There is currently no consent banner on this site, and the analytics cookies described above are set for everyone, including you. Stating that plainly rather than implying otherwise: under EU and UK rules those cookies should be gated behind your consent, and today they are not.

A Google-certified consent management platform is required before this site carries advertising, and enabling it will cover the analytics cookies at the same time. Until it is in place, the reliable way to refuse is your browser: every tool named above is stopped by any content blocker, and the two opt-out links in this section work today. This paragraph changes on the day the consent tool goes live.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act and comparable US state laws. There is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control on this site because there is nothing being sold or shared to switch off. If that ever changes, this policy and a control will appear before it does.

What we do hold. Being precise, because "we collect nothing" would not be true: the request logs described above contain your IP address, which California law treats as personal information even though we never attach a name to it. That is the only category. It is a by-product of serving the page, it is retained by Cloudflare on our behalf for diagnostics, and it is not joined to anything else.

We hold no account, profile or worksheet data, so a request to know, delete or correct that has nothing to act on.

The request logs are a different matter, and it is worth being exact rather than generous: Cloudflare's Workers Logs retains them on a fixed schedule measured in days and then discards them automatically. There is no interface for pulling out one visitor's rows, so we are not going to promise a deletion we cannot perform. What we can do is confirm what is retained and for how long, and pass a request to Cloudflare as the processor — email hello@grammarworksheet.com and say so. In practice the entries expire on their own faster than most requests could be processed.

Requests about analytics or advertising data held by a third party go to that provider, named above.

Children

The worksheets are written for children, but the site is designed to be used by a parent or teacher.

We do not ask anyone, child or adult, for personal information: there is no sign-up, no profile, and no field anywhere on this site for a child to type anything about themselves. Serving a page still produces the request log described above, which contains an IP address — that is unavoidable for any website, it is not tied to a name, and it is not used to recognize a returning visitor. If a child emails us we hold that message and address only until the question is answered.
